Freshwater invertebrates utilization for foods, agricultural, medical and cosmatics, environment and sustainable conservation purposes

Executive Summary
Conservation and sustainable utilization of bioresources cannot be occurred without healthy ecosystem. The healthy ecosystem can be evaluated from structure and function of biota in that ecosystem. Thailand plays an attention on biodiversity and support research in this area for a longtime. There are species lists and other aspects. Due to there are a few data management because 1) data and specimens are distributed in different government sectors and academic institutes, 2) many faunal specimens were damage which no longer can be used as archive specimens, and 3) many specimens were also kept by non-native researchers. To fulfill this gap, this research aims to develop information technology by using collected data in terms of species, morphological characteristics, distribution, habitat and location and utility of some selected fauna (freshwater sponge, zooplankton and aquatic insects) from published articles. In addition, field collection will be conducted to replace the damage and missing specimens and get more new information in order to gain more knowledge of bioresource of Thailand.

Introduction
According to the increasing of populations, decreasing of forest area, including the pollutions from various human activities affect the variety of bioresources. All over the world, including Thailand are interested in Bioeconomy. If each country does not have BioBank or the useful database, that country can not use bioresources effectively. In Thailand, BEDO has prepared the list of Thailand bioresources since 2009 to present. Most are bioresources that offer the benefit to economics. However, there are many organisms that are not clearly valuable in the economics but some of them have value on Ecological Services and some groups have benefit in environmental used. Beside from the survey to get the specimens from their natural habitats to study Taxonomy, electronic database information system will be useful for the future study.

Rationale
In Thailand, there are flora and fauna survey in various habitats for a long time by government sectors and researchers from academic institutions. By this way, many data are separated in many places and hardly get through it. Moreover, the status of that bioresource is enable identified. Office of Environment Policy and Planning Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment published OEPP Biodiversity Series which presented checklist of some groups such as forest insects, mollusks, fish, lichens crustaceans, etc (chm-thai.nep.go.th, 2016). To conserve and using the benefit of bioresources, firstly specific species and its status must be known. It is nessessary to study on Taxonomy and surveying in the habitats. Development on bioresource database is important to collect the correct bioresources. Besides, it can connect with bioresource database in neighbor countries. This database will give information of status in natural habitats and other information of each organism. The knownledge will be useful for future study and it can be used for management bioresources especially in the protected areas, and for conservation and sustainable utilization. Moreover, the information will help us to identify what area is needed in human resource capacity building. As there are more new data of species including name and genetic or ecological continuously published for example Watiroyram et al., (2015 a & b), Watiroyram et al., (2016) Boonsoong and Sartori (2015) and Saetung and Boonsoong (2016). The adding new data in to the database will be update information of species in Thailand which is useful for various utilization. This research is a combination of Taxnomic study and data design development. In the first phase, the study is focused on freshwater sponge, zooplankton and aquatic insects.

Objectives
   1. To investigate species diversity of freshwater sponges, freshwater zooplankton and aquatic insects.
   2. Collect available data on species, distribution, and data of utilization of freshwater sponges, freshwater zooplankton and aquatic insects from published sources.
   3. Database design and development.
