Dineutus spinosus can be distinguished from other Thai
Dineutus by margin of the pronotum is lightly colored, and elytron and by the spinose elytral apex having both parasutural and epipleural spines developed (Suksai et al., 2021).

Habitat: -
D. spinosus occurs on exposed rivers, streams, ponds, and water tanks.
