Morphology:
Adult:
 - Patrus salvazai is most similar to P. phetchabunensis but can be distinguished by P. salvazai has the protibial constricted in basal 1/2, and the aedeagus with median lobe constricted close to mid-length, with the apex arcuate in lateral view. Females of both species can be distinguished by P. salvazai has the elytral apex weakly rounded in appearance.

Habitat: - P. salvazai was found in streams at high elevations and a shallow stream with stagnant water or with slow current.

- Chiang Rai Province: Nam Kuen Stream, Wiang Pa Pao District.
- Chiang Rai Province: Stream close to Ban Phithak Thai, Thoeng District.
- Chiang Rai Province: Stream close to Ban Thai Samakkhi, Thoeng District.
- Nan Province: Doi Phuka National Park.
- Nan Province: Khun Sathan National Park.
- Nan Province: Mae Charim National Park.
